In the bridge of track 5, You’re On Your Own Kid, Taylor sings about realizing that people will always come and go in your life.
At the end of the day, all you’ve got is you — and that’s okay.
The impermanence doesn’t diminish the impact of the relationships we have with others because life is about embracing the big beautiful mess and knowing that you’re going to be okay.
You may be on your own, but you don’t have to feel alone.
'Cause there were pages turned with the bridges burned
Everything you lose is a step you take
So make the friendship bracelets
Take the moment and taste it
You've got no reason to be afraid
— Taylor Swift
The Eras tour was an incredibly healing experience for millions —especially women who were hungry for the connection that the concert experience created beyond the stadiums that housed them.
We got together online and in person to make the friendship bracelets, and when we met at the concerts, we traded them.
The bracelets are a reminder of the power of we have together, and the things that connect us to each other —
even when we feel lost or lonely.
After years of being told that girly things are silly, we said fuck it — and came together to celebrate girlhood.
We sang, we danced, we felt our feelings — and after the music faded and the lights went out, we took pieces of each other home with us.
That’s the story of Vigilante Gifts Bracelets.
I got home from the concert and couldn’t stop making bracelets. I made more than I could wear, so I started carrying them around to give them away — to friends and strangers alike.
People started to ask where they could buy my friendship bracelets because they wanted to spread the love too, so I created Vigilante Gifts.
